Laptop The Burnett State College 1-to-1 Student Laptop Learning Program logo

The Burnett State College 1-to-1 Laptop Learning Program aims to provide the opportunity for each student to have a laptop computer for their learning. The laptops will be purchased by Burnett State College. Parents of students participating in the program will make a contribution of $250 per laptop each year. There is a discount for families with two or more students in the program.

In 2012, the laptops will be delivered to Year 9 to 12 students, and if the program is successful and supported it will be extended to other year levels.

The aim of the program is to give students the opportunity to learn using a laptop that they will have access to both at home and at school.

The laptops to be used in 2012 are the Hewlett Packard 6530b and Acer Aspire 1830.

There are a number of requirements for participation, inlcuding that students and parents participate in an induction program before laptops are issued. The induction meetings for parents and students will be held before laptops are issued to students. There will be a more involved workshop for students when they recieve their laptops. If all requirements are met, students will be able to take their laptop home after completing their induction workshop.

Parent meetings: the induction meetings for parents (and students) are listed on the College calendar at  There will be meetings in both Gayndah and Mundubbera to inform parents about the program and to give them a chance to see the laptops.
